Have played the track in Angel Fire many times and it is a blast! The front is tight and requires accuracy off the tee. There is also water or creeks in play on almost every hole. The 6th hole is a par 3 where the green is nearly 70 feet below the tee box. Just amazing!
The back nine is more open with a links style feel and creeks everywhere. Plenty of opportunity to get in trouble - but the scenery is just unreal.
And, really, when you're from Texas and it's pushing 100 everyday during the summer - you can't beat high's in the 70's with a cool mountain breeze. Playing golf at Angel Fire Resort's golf course in the summer is a must for every golfer.
Oh, and I saw plans of a new state of the art clubhouse they are building there. Looks like it will be one of the nicest in the region and the plans look gorgeous! Can't wait to come back!
