“Say Hello to my Little Friend”
Last week was all about the elusive trail “Chutes & Ladders”. 6 new bridges and a couple super cool jumps, what more could a rider ask for. This new blue trail will be a super cool addition to the trail network here at Angel Fire Bike Park. We hope to debut it’s glory on October 1st, along with the new Angel’s Plunge trail.

Breathing new life into old trail. That’s what last week was all about. Adding some big rollers into some Combi, buffing and tweaking some Enlightenment and adding a super cool section of Transition and World Cup. Look forward to a super cool new section of World Cup next week. If everything goes well, we’ll get to remodel Candy Land before the Freeride Fest!

Whew! Another large section of Boulder Dash open to the public. Only two weeks until the freeride festival, look forward to upgrades on Boulder Dash, World Cup, Supreme DH, Candy Land and Lower Transition!

Okay, we’re all super tired because we built about 2,000 feet of the new ridge line trail “Angel’s Plunge” and about the same of a new section of Boulder Dash. Even though the ridge line trail isn’t open, it’s looking awesome. However, the new Boulder Dash is open and just rode it for the first time and is definitely something special. You can access it just above the drop zone on Combi. Hope you can check it out this weekend. 
Trail Crew has been busy putting a lot of work into some upgrades on Supreme DH and Lower Chillin. Look forward to some new jumps, berms and the sweetness that we all come to appreciate. The Chutes and Ladders trail is coming along nicely with 4 new bridges already as well as some really cool natural features. I got to ride a little bit of the new Angel’s Plunge off of Summit the other day and let’s just say that this trail will definitely be something special. Hope you all enjoy!

We’ve got rain! ”Last Call” for DH. That’s what we’re calling this new trail that is totally done and ready for shreddin! I am looking at the blue groove from the very bottom and it’s nothing less than amazing. I counted 12 new jumps and a handful of berms and a super sick wooden drop that you could definitely see from the cosmos.
The trail crew put a lot of hours in in on this and if you see one around, be sure to thank them for this awesome flow.

Oh no, one of our excacavators broke! Oh well, I guess we’ll have to build some bridges instead. Look forward to 6 new bridges on the mountain. There is a board walk at the entrance of Boulder Dash and a new wooden jump around the second berm on this trail as well. We’ve also added a few more bridges on Upper Boogie, just above and and below the crazy lava rock section, hope these help out =) Last but now least, there is a new jump bridge on Lower Boogie just a little ways after the wooden drop under the chair-lift. I know it’s not new trail, but upgrades to the oldies are nothing to complain about. Happy Trails!

Sincere apologies from the trail-crew here at Angel Fire Bike Park. We’ve been so busy adding trail to the bike park that we haven’t been keeping all of you loyal riders updated on the new dirt that’s been added to the mountain. Here are the following additions since the trail-crew started may 17th:
-New larger drop in the drop zone with a new and improved berm.
-Over two miles of new and re-routed sections of our easiest trail Combi.
-New .75 mile section of our blue trail “Diesel”.
-New 1.2 mile section of our aggressive DH trail Chilin with 12 new jumps and 7 new berms (which conveniently flows into Candy Land)
-New .6 mile section of Supreme DH with 9 new jumps and 8 new berms.
-Enlightenment is super buff, fast and smooth, with the Summit connector finishing in two weeks.
This is what’s finished for this next weekend. From now we will be completing Boulder Dash, starting a new blue DH trail with black options called Angel’s Plunge and a new bridge trail called Chutes and Ladders, all of which will be finished by the Freeride Festival. Look forward to positive changes and new bridges throughout the Summer with some world class trails coming towards the end of the Summer. For those of you who have made it out, thanks for coming. For those who have yet to come, it’s totally worth the trip!

Trail Update August 16th, 2011 
Below are some “Secret Spy” shots of the new DH track Chillin’! 
This past week we’ve cleared off all the loose rock on all the trails. We’ve also painted all the high rocks on all the black-trails and removed any stump sticking up out of the ground. Why stop there? We went ahead and removed all of the trees that your handlebars barely fit through. After all that we decided to clean the fall-zone of Supreme DH, add a new jump, and link a new trail called “Digger” off of Supreme DH. 
Then we started a massive Combi-Re-route project (should be done by the Freeride Fest). The shots below are from the new Combi-Re-route. It is really fun! 
This week we plan on doing some work to Candy Land, Lower Boogie and finishing Chillin’ in preparation for the Freeride Fest. Hope everyone can make it. We’re giving away some pretty sick prizes, including a new Commencal Frame. Whaaaaaat!!!!!!! Hogan Koesis Bike Park Director |

Trail Update August 5th, 2011 Okay, this is getting ridiculous. It seems as though we can’t put together a legitimate trail report without blowing the seems out of the suit. What do I mean by that? The trail-crew has been knocking it out of the freaking park! With new trails and features coming out of the woodwork, I don’t know how we are not going to be the largest Bike Park in a few years.
This coming up weekend, look forward to; a new bridge on Supreme that crosses over Sierra, the new section of Boulder Dash, a new blue downhill trail called Diesel that can be accessed from Combi, a new blue downhill trail called Mach 1 that can be accessed from Sierra and a new green trail called JB’s way that can also be accessed from Sierra. Ummm am I forgetting anything? Next week we will be working on drainage throughout the entire mountain and trying our best to open up the new double black DH track called Chillin’.

Trail Update July 20th, 2011 Whew! The past couple of weeks have been amazing here at the bike park. We’ve taken out a really steep section in Combi and added over a quarter-mile of trail.
This new section has five massive berms with some fun and flowy straights. We’ve even added a few ninja lines for all you advanced riders out there constantly scanning the terrain for something to hit, it’s in there, you just have to look for it. So there it is, something for everyone, we’ll keep with this philosophy if everyone keeps enjoying it. 
We also have a huge surprise that’ll be ready by Saturday this weekend. We are going to be premiering the first section of Boulder Dash. The irony about this trail is that there are absolutely no boulders in this trail. The only thing that you are going to have to dash after is the next run, when you will be tempted over and over to hit this new jump line. There are 8 berms that are so big, you can see them from Google Earth. There are 8 table-tops that successively get bigger as you go down hill and of course, we tossed in a few massive rollers for fun. 
Caution: Even though this is a blue-jump trail, the jumps still have the potential to cause injury. Please work up to the landings with control in mind and keep injury free. We tried to make the landings as long as possible to account for over jumping once the blue-groove sets in. We believe that this jump-trail definitely has something for everyone. Enjoy!

Trail Update July 1st, 2011NEW XC TRAIL! Open for business is our new XC trail Enlightenment. Angel Fire is proud to unveil it’s new uphill only XC trail. Mostly hand built, this trail starts just to the left of the new Skills-Center.Why did we choose the name Enlightenment? Well, when you climb this trail you will be officially ruined. Ruined with the pleasure of how fun, fast and smooth this ride is. When done, you will be left with a final blessed state free from ignorance, desire and suffering. Okay, maybe not, but traversing across meadows, aspen fields, lush mountain undergrowth, and the occasional echo of wildlife in the air, this trail will definitely leave you with peace and serenity.
This 2mi. climb completes phase one of our new uphill only trail. The lower loop is now open, so if your local forest is closed due to fire restriction or you are just looking for a quick day adventure riding something new, come on down, we’re sure you’ll enjoy. 
We also did some work on Supreme DH in the aspen grove. Adding a few new berms and jumps to make that grin on your face a little bit wider. Bike Park Director, Hogan Koesis |

| Our new XC uphill only trail only has about a week to go and it will be up in operation. We are also super excited about the new entrance on the Supreme DH trail. Now you can access the trail immediately from the lift and super fun drop in to accompany the entrance. |
| Our trail crew has also added 4 new bridges to the mountain. Replacing the old decrepit bridge on Sierra, adding two fun and flowy bridges on Ziggy and a new drop in on World Cup will provide fun for all. |
| The next couple of weeks we look forward in taking out the steep sections in Combi and re-routing them into some fun and winding single-track. | Trail Update May 24th, 2011Whew! The last four weeks has been absolutely crazy! We’ve been battling the abnormally cold weather since the end of April. We’re still working on the Ziggy trail, this should be done by the third week of June. We’re also running a little behind on the new XC trail “enlightenment”. Everything will be up and running mid-June. However, for now, aside from some new and exciting features randomly placed throughout the mountain, we are definitely premiering our new bike shop, lesson packages and the most affordable rental rates in the entire country. | |
| To premier our new rental and bike shop, we’ve created a World class skills center. This skills center is the most accommodating and progressive skills center in the entire Rocky Mountains. With lines catering from the extremely novice, to the advanced, this skills center has it all.
