Angel Fire Resort Gears Up for an Exciting Summer Season

ANGEL FIRE, NM (Thursday, April 21, 2005) – Angel Fire Resort today announced plans for their expanded 2005 summer activities. In addition to the official opening of the Angel Fire Resort golf course on Friday, April 29th, the Resort will host a number of high profile cycling events this summer, including the much anticipated UCI Mountain Bike World Cup in July. The Resort also has plans to add a new Eurobungy to its many existing summer activities.

Angel Fire Resort’s 18-Hole PGA golf course is ranked as one of New Mexico’s top five golf courses as rated by New Mexico Business Weekly. Sitting at 8,690 feet, this high altitude course has a slope rating of 136. Green fees range in price, starting at $40 for mid-week twilight golfing to $74 for weekend and holidays*. Tee times start at 6:30AM.

Eurobungy, the latest craze among thrill seekers, is coming to Angel Fire. This combination trampoline-pulley system can hoist four participants at a time to flip, fly and jump their way to new heights. Suitable for all members of the family, this popular attraction can be found in nationally acclaimed amusement parks such as Six-Flags and can now be enjoyed at Angel Fire Resort. Pricing TBD.

Horseback Riding, Hay Rides, Tennis, Fishing, Climbing Wall, Jumpy Dragon, River Rafting on the Rio Grande, Northern New Mexico Winery Tours, Famous Churches and Chapels Tour, Gold Mine and Ghost Town Tours, Gold Panning Trips, Guided Fly Fishing Trips, Birding Excursions, Fly Fishing Lessons, Pontoon Boat Rentals and Elk Tours.

Mountain Biking: Don’t miss the downhill excitement of mountain biking at Angel Fire Resort. Expanded trail systems and improved bike rental fleet make it more enjoyable than ever to ride your way through the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Chairlift passes for the Chile Express are available for $12 per person for one ride/ $24 for unrestricted all day usage*.

Angel Fire Resort will be host to world class biking events throughout the summer, including the 2005 UCI Mountain Bike World Cup. The World Cup will be held at Angel Fire Resort, July 9th & 10th and will feature over 300 riders from more than 30 countries. Other races include:

• 17th Annual Chile Challenge Mountain Bike Races June 4th & 5th,
• 2nd Annual Cerro Vista Challenge endurance mountain bike race September 17th

Movies Under the Stars is back by popular demand. For the second year running, Angel Fire Resort will host FREE summer movie events through the month of August. This summer series makes for great family entertainment by showcasing popular movies every Friday night in August on a 50’ screen. The natural amphitheatre seating and high power sound system provides thousands of visitors the perfect outdoor theatre experience under a blanket of stars.

WeBeRacing Motorcycle Hare Scramble is scheduled for August 14th and is the first off-road motorcycle race to hit the Moreno Valley in several years. Living-on-the edge riders will test their skills as they race across diverse terrain such as the malpai (lava rock) fields, fire and logging roads, tight single-track, and wide-open ski runs in a true test of mental and physical grit.
