Angel Fire, NM (May 3, 2005) – Angel Fire Resort today announced that Jon Mahanna, general manager for Angel Fire Resort, has been selected as a recipient of the 2005 SAMMY Future Leadership Award. Mahanna is one of four ski industry leaders that will be presented with this award May 21st at the 2005 National Ski Areas Association conference in Scottsdale, AZ.
According to SAM (Ski Area Management Magazine) the recipients were chosen for their accomplishments to date and for their potential for even greater achievements in the future. All four have contributed in significant ways to the growth of their current organizations.
Other honorees in this category include Bill Rock, general manager at Durango Mountain Resort, Co., Jay Roberts, mountain operations director of Wintergreen Resort, Va., and Carla Marcus, founder and executive director of WinterKids.
This is the eighth year for this annual awards program, created by SAM Magazine. Nominations for the SAMMY Awards come from active members of the North American snow sports industry.
