Angel Fire, New Mexico -- July 25, 2005 -- Back by overwhelming demand, Angel Fire Resort is pleased to announce the return of “Movies Under the Stars” an outdoor event, coming to Angel Fire Resort every Friday night in the month of August. In partnership with the Village of Angel Fire, local radio station, KKIT 99.1 FM, and Mountain Dew, Angel Fire Resort invites the public to share in a truly memorable summer experience, free of charge. It will feature some of the best family and summer movies, all on a 50’ outdoor screen with concert-quality surround sound.
Movies Under the Stars is open to anyone wishing to enjoy great summer movies under a blanket of stars. A short movie will start at approximately 8PM, and will be followed immediately after by the feature film. Games and concessions will begin at 6PM. The giant movie screen will be placed on Exhibition Ski Run, adjacent to the Angel Fire Resort Hotel.
Moviegoers are invited to bring chairs, blankets, picnic baskets, family and friends. The best part of all - it’s FREE--the movies, the parking, even the popcorn. New Mexico state law prohibits bringing alcohol on premises. Beer and wine will be available for purchase for those over 21 years of age. Full concessions, including dinner, snacks, sodas and candy, will be available onsite.
“Last year’s Movie Under the Stars event was a huge success, so we’re excited to offer this unique outdoor venue again,” says Jon Mahanna, general manager, Angel Fire Resort. “We hope families will take advantage of the great summer weather and join us on the mountain for all four weekends.”
The complete movie schedule is as follows:
August 5 Pirates of the Caribbean (PG-13)
August 12 The Incredibles (G)
August 19 Napoleon Dynamite (PG)
August 26 Dodgeball (PG-13)
