Orinda, California: Who has the best terrain parks at any North American ski resort according to visitors to OnTheSnow.com, the oldest and most-visited snow sports portal on the Internet? It's at Angel Fire, N.M.
The Web site, which attracts an audited 1.2 million individuals monthly during the winter, gave its visitors the opportunity to write reviews of all North American resorts and rank them in five categories.
Angel Fire received almost perfect scores in the terrain park category. The ratings were based primarily on readers' average ranking, number of reviews, and specific comments made in OnTheSnow.com over the winter season.
"More and more skiers and snowboarders are relying on the word of their peers when they make resort choices," said Mountain News President and Publisher Rob Brown, whose company publishes OnTheSnow.com. "We believe the importance of reader advisories will continue to grow each year and these annual awards provide a peek into their thinking."
Reviewers were clear in their comments: "Angel Fire has twice as much terrain with great parks if you're into that… We are skiers and snowboarders, and Angel Fire is great for both… The terrain has everything you can think of, black diamond to some of the easiest of all the green in New Mexico… Good snowboarding park."
Try Liberation Park and the newest, Lowrider. They are open for snowboarders, skiers, snowbikers, and skiboarders. Snowboarding is allowed on all open trails.
