Spectacular Views Complement First-Class Amenities in $16 Million Clubhouse
ANGEL FIRE, NM - (May 21, 2010) Angel Fire Resort today unveiled its new Golf & Country Club facility, timed to the opening of its 2010 summer golf season. The 27,000 square-foot golf clubhouse has been in development for three years, since a smaller, functionally out-dated clubhouse built on the same site back in the 1970s was demolished.
Situated at 8,600' elevation, with views oriented north towards Mt. Wheeler--the tallest peak in New Mexico--the new clubhouse provides state-of-the-art golf and membership amenities, and showcases environmentally friendly engineering together with alpine-inspired architecture and design. The centerpiece of the design is the stunning panoramic views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains surrounding Angel Fire, although the towering rock fireplace and giant white spruce beams of the upstairs grand hall, Stonewood, will also compete for attention.
"We could not be more pleased with the outcome of this project," says Pat Brunstad, chief executive officer for Angel Fire Resort. "There is nothing like this in Northern New Mexico. The new Country Club reflects the best of Angel Fire's alpine community along with all the modern and upscale features that will provide a world class facility for our visitors and members. Proving worth the wait, this clubhouse is certain to exceed any and all expectations."
The many features of the new Angel Fire Resort Golf & Country Club include a full-service golf shop with an on-staff PGA pro instructor; indoor and outdoor meeting and event space; a modern fitness center with yoga room; a private wine room with storage for over 2,200 bottles; an upstairs fine dining restaurant, Stonewood; an upscale bar, Elements; a downstairs "Par & Grill" Cafe offering lighter-fare and patio dining; the 5,200 sq. ft. Grand Hall for large meetings and events; an indoor swimming pool, well appointed men's and women's locker rooms, concierge services and more.
The Angel Fire Resort Golf & Country Club will be open to the public year-round. The resort offers premier membership opportunities to qualified area property owners, which include unlimited skiing and golf, VIP membership events, dining and retail savings, preferred parking, ski and club storage, and many other unique benefits. Angel Fire Resort currently has over 5,000 member-property owners.
Angel Fire's 18-hole PGA Championship Golf Course has long been regarded as one of the top high elevation golf courses in the Rocky Mountains. The longer-playing layouts of the front nine wind through two unspoiled canyons of aspen and spruce. The signature 6th hole features a tee box soaring 200 vertical feet above the green - 250 yards away. The back nine offers mountain meadow play with rolling fairways, meandering streams and plenty of bunkers to challenge every level of golfer.
