Amazing Things to See and Do This Autumn in the New Mexico Mountains
ANGEL FIRE, New Mexico (September 15, 2010) – The relatively dry August and September has created the opportunity for a great Fall foliage season in New Mexico’s northern mountains, which should peak starting late-September to early October in Angel Fire and all around New Mexico’s Enchanted Circle. (The Angel Fire Resort website offers a visual “Autumn Leaf Alert” which provides a daily update on the changing of the colors so visitors can time their trip to peak photo opportunities.)
To further entice visitors to the area, Angel Fire Resort announced a 15% Fall Discount when booking two or more nights in the Lodge at Angel Fire Resort, or in the resort’s managed vacation rental condos and homes. The promotion runs now through October 31, 2010.
In addition, Angel Fire Resort has full schedule of Fall special events ranging from competitions on the mountain to evening events in the new $16-million Angel Fire Golf & Country Club. Events include:
The Red Bull Final Descent (Saturday, October 9)
The last mountain bike event of the season, the Red Bull Final Descent is an intense twelve hour downhill competition on what is arguably the best downhill terrain in the country. The Red Bull royal carpet is pulled out for this event with DJ, fire barrels, a kickin’ after party and of course cash payout for event winners and lots of prizes. Teams of up to four as well as individuals are invited to participate. More race details may be found at www.angelfireresort.com/finaldescent
Oktoberfest (Saturday, October 16)
Angel Fire Resort is hosting an Oktoberfest party on Saturday, October 16th. The festivities will include German Beer, authentic German Bratwurst with Sauerkraut and beer sauce and Bavarian Pretzels all prepared by Chef Mathias Klemmt (the last name should be a clue as to the German authenticity). The party will take place from 5pm-10pm in the new Country Club Grand Hall with live music by Cal Haines and the Santa Fe Polka Band.
Halloween Murder Mystery Dinner Theater (Saturday, October 30)
Saturday, October 30, Angel Fire Resort will host a Halloween Murder Mystery Dinner Theater in the Grand Hall of the new Country Club. The theme for the event is an 18th century thriller “A Murder at Macabre Manor.” The spook fest begins at 6:30pm. Reservations are required and may be made by calling: 575-377-3055.
Calling All Flakes! Snowcalling Celebration (Saturday, November 13)
