When the winter snows melt, Angel Fire Resort’s mountain opens up for a variety of high alpine summer activities. It all starts with the Chile Express chairlift which whisks guests to the summit (elev. 10,600′) for unparalleled views of the Moreno Valley and Wheeler Peak. Here, families can take a scenic walk amidst the wildflowers or eat lunch at the Summit Haus. An 18-hole disc golf is also available for anyone interested.
Angel Fire Bike Park has become the premier destination for those who enjoy downhill mountain bike thrills. After trail expansion and improvement the last couple of seasons, the Bike Park now offers over 50 miles of lift-accessed trails. With wide and gentle beginner trails, bermed and flowy jump trails, and steep and challenging expert trails; the bike park has something for all mountain bikers. There is also a skills training center near the base area, which allows bikers to practice their technique before they go to the top.
Thrill seekers are ecstatic about the addition of Angel Fire Resort’s Zipline Adventure Tour. New Mexico’s only zipline adventure consists of multiple segments of varying length, taking guests from an introductory zipline of 100’ to the “Super Zip,” which boasts 1,600’ of adventure and is over 200’ above the forest floor. Did we mention you can race your friends because it is actually two side-by-side cables?
For the younger ones, we also feature a climbing wall and a Eurobungy, both available near the base of the chairlift.
Steps away from the mountain, The Lodge at Angel Fire Resort has undergone remodel efforts to upgrade its exterior, common areas, fitness center, restaurants, retail and coffee shop. To keep the business traveler connected during their stay, we’ve also added free Wi-Fi service in the lobby, common areas and in all rooms. The Lodge is open 365 days a year.
