Race League
SATURDAYS
What: Angel Fire Resort’s 2013 Saturday Night Lights Race League opens racing to more participants than ever before. The league is extended to groups of all ages, the business community, schools and resort departments. All proceeds benefit the local youth racing club – Team Angel Fire, a non-profit organization.
Who: Angel Fire Resort, local teams and NASTAR – a nationwide standardized race system that handicaps each competitor and compares him or her to US Ski Team members.
Why: To better benefit Team Angel Fire, because it’s fun and for the love of skiing and boarding!
Who Should Attend: All disciplines are welcome. Teams can range from six to eight competitors, including at least one female or male racer and at least one ski, snowboarder or telemarker. Entries must be received in full from a team captain by cash or with a check payable to Angel Fire Resort. Team captains should drop off team entries and payment prior to the first race day at the Ski and Snowboard School Ticket Office. Every team member must have a signed release, a valid pass or lift ticket (complimentary night ticket for racers) and full team payment to access the racecourse. Entry fees are $160.00 per team.
When: Starts Jan. 19, 2013 for six weeks from 4:30pm – 6:45pm. All runs are scored and the results are posted on the internet at www.nastar.com. Results will also be available by 7:30pm at the Village Haus bar. Following each race, the Village Haus will host a post-race party with FREE appetizers and beer specials. The race parties will start at 6:30 and continue until the Village Haus closes. Team rankings will be posted in the Sangre de Cristo Chronicle the following Wednesday.
