It’s a hard life working on the railroad, but thankfully our friends at NOAA are helping to lay the track. I’ve been on the hype train for far too long and it’s about time everyone understands why.
If you’re like me, you subscribe to the powder report, and probably three or four other weather services distribution lists because you want to know when it’s going to snow, how much it’s going to snow and the logistics of how you’re going to get out of any obligations you may have that would prevent you from enjoying said snow.
NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association) has been publishing updates about this magical phenomenon called El Nino. El Nino is the result of higher than average water temperatures in the central and eastern pacific, near the equator.
What we can expect from this system is an unusually wet winter season for the southern states. Hopefully you’ve been saving up those sick days.
Experts are currently predicting that the 2015-16 winter season will have the force of the strongest El Nino in the last 50 years. NOAA is predicting record breaking snowfall, and many more powder days.
We know you want to get the most days on powder for the least amount of money. Our season passes (at full price) are $499, where as lift tickets are around $68 a day. That’s just 8 days on the mountain before you’ve saved money.
Lets up the ante a little bit. If you purchase before Nov. 1, you’re saving money after just 5 days. (That’s not even taking into account the 18 other resorts you’ll get 3 free days of skiing at).
ALL ABOARD!
