Mountain Biking is alive and well in New Mexico, that’s for sure! The third & fourth race in the Fire 5 Downhill Series are in the book. A little rain the night before the first race set the weekend up for some textbook Hero Dirt. This was also the biggest turn out for a Fire 5 race EVER! With almost 200 riders, and over $3500 in cash prizes, this weekend will be pretty hard to top! What made this weekends racing so much fun was the “double header” format. The racer with the least amount of points from the 2 day combined race results was declared the winner, points earned matched the place riders finished in each race. So, the racer in first place gets 1 point, the racer in second gets 2 points, and so on.
