What Is NASTAR Ski Racing?

NASTAR is the largest public grassroots ski racing program in the world. It gives recreational skiers the chance to race a professionally set course and compare their times to national performance standards.

NASTAR racing typically uses Giant Slalom (GS) style courses, which feature longer, flowing turns designed for speed and consistency. On select race days or special events, racers may also experience Slalom-style courses, which use shorter, quicker turns that test agility and technical control.

The program is open to all ability levels. You do not need prior racing experience to participate. Each run is electronically timed and scored, allowing racers to track improvement throughout the season and compete against friends, family, and national benchmarks.
