Our mountain operations teams at Angel Fire Resort are hard at work preparing the slopes for the upcoming winter. Led by Jesse Stocking, Director of Snow Services, our crews are undertaking infrastructure upgrades across the mountain. This project replaces and upgrades roughly 2,000 feet of snowmaking pipe to ensure our systems run at peak performance when freezing temperatures arrive.
Replacing decades-old lines requires heavy machinery, trenching, and expert on-site welding. By laying down thousands of feet of fresh, high-pressure pipe into key areas of the mountain, we eliminate old bottlenecks and significantly increase system reliability. These subterranean upgrades ensure that our snowmaking system operates efficiently from day one.
These upgrades deliver a tangible difference on the mountain. Instead of dragging long runs of surface hose or constantly pushing snow across long distances with our snowcats, this updated pipeline lets us make high-quality snow where it is needed most. The result is faster trail openings, deeper base layers, and consistently smooth coverage across your favorite runs all season long.
