3 Reasons to Visit Angel Fire Resort for Spring Break

February 19, 2020

Whether you’re planning a quick family getaway, or you’re not ready to say goodbye to the ski season, Spring Break at Angel Fire Resort is your haven for fun in the sun and snow! So pack your sunscreen, crazy costumes and ski wax and prepare for some of the best skiing conditions this side of the Rio Grande!

While you can expect warmer temperatures and longer spring ski days, Angel Fire Resort has some activities and events planned to kick your Spring Break up a notch. Here are our top three reasons why you should make Angel Fire Resort your Spring Break destination!

Spring Break at Angel Fire Resort

Spring Break at Angel Fire Resort is your haven for fun in the sun and snow!

Best Snow Pack in Five Years

Come up to 9,000’ and ski the “Best Snow in New Mexico”,  Angel Fire’s heavenly powder. With a season total of 170” so far, Angel Fire Resort is experiencing the best snow pack in at least five years. Conditions are going to be all-time, and our mountain is still 98% open! See mountain stats here.

Not sure what trails to explore? Want to experience the best conditions for spring skiing in the Southwest? We have your back. Beginner and intermediate skiers will enjoy Jasper’s and Bodacious for long, groomed and sunny runs. Exhibition is the best afternoon run, the short, steep pitch will elevate any mood.

For more advanced skiers, spend your morning exploring Angel Fire Resort’s famed backside. Minder Binder is an excellent choice because of its tucked away location and the firm snow. More black diamond runs can be earned via the Hiking Access Trail, where conditions are best during lunch hour.

Spring Break Music Fest

We are celebrating a variety of music genres each day during Spring Break! Feast your ears on Americana Roots and gritty soul grooves from Cullen Winter’s Rhythm & Bluesmobile on Monday, March 16th. On Tuesday, be on the lookout for Bagpipes on the Mountain with Charlie Rafferty and finish the evening with party band Felix y Los Gatos at the Village Haus. A full lineup of the Spring Break Music Fest can be found here.

Aside from live music every day of Spring Break, there will be free games on the deck! Challenge your family and friends to a Corn Hole match, see who is the champion at Connect Four, or knock down the giant Jenga.

No Lift Lines During Spring Break at Angel Fire Resort

What is better than skiing and riding the “Best Snow in New Mexico?” How about having the whole mountain to yourself? Aside from holiday weekends, the lines for the Chile Express and Southwest Flyer are usually under fifteen minutes. Don’t take our word for it, check out the Live Base Area Webcam and see for yourself!

Angel Fire Resort prides itself on offering a memorable Rocky Mountain experience to families and outdoor enthusiasts alike. Whether your idea of fun includes making the trek to the boundary area of the backside and hitting the advanced runs; or tubing with the family, you can rest assured that the lines are shorter than other ski areas.

All children group ski school programs are sold out March 8th, 9th, 10th, 15th, 16th & 17th, 2020. This being said, always call ahead to make reservations for private lessons, ski school and other special programs.
