Chile Challenge | Downhill MTB Race

We’re bringing back the Chile Challenge to say goodbye to ski season and wave a hello to Summer.

Bikes will be allowed to load the Chile Express lift at the end of the day after patrol has swept for skiers/riders. Once that is complete bikers will start at the same time downhill. The course is Headin’ Home to Exhibition only. First rider down wins a 2024 Gravity Pass for the Angel Fire Bike Park!

All participants for this race will need to have a scannable pass (Winter 23-24, Member Pass, Staff Pass, or day ticket for 03.24.2024) or ticket for this event. The cost will be $5 for a ticket. If anyone needs a ticket they can be purchased at window 5&6 at the Ticket Office on the day of the event.

Riders may start gathering at 3:30 PM at the bottom of the lift. The race starts around 4:30 after ski patrol’s final sweep for skiing public.

EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT - Hugo Cisneros, Maintenance Supervisor Hugo has worked at Angel Fire Resort for over 10 years. His typical work day starts in the early morning when he tirelessly cleans lots and completes work orders for the Lodge and @afrvresort. He says what he loves most about his job is the chance to work outside and his boss, Aaron. In his free time, Hugo enjoys horseback riding, hiking, and a never-ending "honey-do" list at home. We asked him if there was anything else interesting about himself he'd like to share, and he said, "I consider myself a very boring person," with a sly smile. Legends Grill is open every day 4 PM - 9 PM We're keeping Legends Grill open every day all summer ☀️ long! Dine with us for dinner 🍽️🥤every day with our full menu 📋 Tuesday through Saturday, and enjoy pizza and appetizers on Saucy Sundays and Margherita Mondays 🍕. There are only 42 days to go until the Bike Park opens (May 17), and yes, we are counting because we're so excited for another fun summer season ☀️ 🚵 ! Lifts will spin Friday-Sunday for our first weekend and then the Bike Park will be open 7 days a week through Labor Day. After, we'll return to Friday-Sunday operations until October 27th.
