Friday, May 6 | The Trifecta Party | 6 – 9 p.m.
Rotary club members will present entertaining details about all the horses in the race – their lineage, odds of winning, who their owners are. They will be backed up by surprise horse racing experts who can help to improve your odds of winning in the Trifecta 50/50 raffle.
You will also enjoy free bourbon tasting and heavy hors d’oeuvres while Tommy Carr provides live entertainment at Chianti’s located on the second level of the Lodge at Angel Fire Resort.
The cost for the Trifecta Party is $ 20 [or $ 15 if purchased as part of the three day combo ticket]. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Angel Fire Rotary club scholarship fund.
Saturday, May 7 | Run For The Roses Viewing Party | 2 – 6 p.m.
The Race Day party will take place at Elements at the Angel Fire Country Club. In addition to watching the race as it happens on big screen TV’s, Chef McCaffery will serve a delicious gourmet all-you-can-eat buffet. You can enjoy discounted drinks like mint juleps and after dinner dance music will be provided by J P Productions.
There will be both a live and silent auction featuring great trips and super bargains. A long-standing tradition is the elaborate hats worn by both women and men. All guests are invited to join in the Hat Decorating contest. Most women select large brim hats decorated with flowers, bows, feathers and even flowing veils to compliment their Derby Day fashions. Men’s choices may be the classic summer skimmer, fedoras, cowboy hats or even jockey caps sporting the owner’s colors to match their traditional silk shirts.
Prizes will be awarded for Win, Place and Show in women’s and men’s categories. The cost for the Saturday Race Day Party will be $ 40 [or $ 35 if purchased as part of the three day combo ticket]. Proceeds from this event will benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters Mountain Region.
Sunday, May 6 | Brunch | 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Finish the weekend in style with brunch at H2 Uptown. The cost is $20 [or $15, if purchased as a part of the combo ticket]. A cash bar will be provided. During the brunch there will be games and a raffle that benefits the Veterans’ Health and Wellness Center.
