Endurance Downhill Mountain Bike Race

Registration will be open until 8PM on 6/21 next to the Angel Fire Bike Shop

After resting dormant for nearly a decade, Angel Fire Bike Park & Red Bull will reignite the Burner in Summer 2019. The legendary gravity fueled endurance event will be set off on The Summer Solstice. Testing riders physical & mental fortitude in both team & solo formats, The Return of the Burner will be the must attend event of the summer.

RACE RULES:
Angel Fire Resort & Bike Park reserves the right to amend, add, and alter rules to the event at any time until race day, 6/22/19.
 
 
-Mass Racer start at summit 8:45 AM. (Chile Express begin loading racers at 7:30 AM.)
-Last racer chair load at 7:00 PM.
-Racers can choose to ride any course in any order.
-The winning team/rider is determined by completing their respective categories lap total in the shortest amount of time.
-For example: A solo pro rider completing 18 laps @ 5:04pm would rank higher than a rider completing 18 laps @ 5:20pm.
-In the case of a team or rider that does not complete the required lap count, scoring will be determined by the total laps completed and the time of day.
-For example: A team completing 13 laps @ 6:45pm would rank higher than a team completing 12 laps @ 7:10pm.
-Designated Pit area behind the bike shop. Set up for rider support by each rider/team interested in doing so.
-All racers must pass through the pit area and enter the lift line via this route in order to complete their lap.
-Racers will not be allowed to load the lift through the regular bike park traffic line.
-Only one rider per team on course at a time. Team members will pass their timing chip off in the pit area similar to a relay race.
-Timing beacons will be placed at the beginning and end of each stage. Riders must stay on the race stages throughout the event. Riders deviating from the prescribed courses will be penalized one lap/ occurrence.
-Track 2 (Angel’s Plunge, lemonade, sierra) will close at 5:00pm. Please complete the required laps prior to 5pm.
-Once riders have entered the lift line through the pit area, there is no cutting in line.
-In the case of a lift hold, riders are not allowed to climb the mountain progressing their lap total.
-Riders may ride multiple bikes during the event.
-Each member of a team must complete at least 20% of the required lap count per category. In the event of an injury, upon notification of race direction, this rule can be excepted. Bike mechanical failure will not be allowed in the following exception.
-In the case of a downed rider with assistance provided by a racer, the racers time of day finish will be adjusted by averaging the lap times from the particular stage. Racers must provide patrol with their name and race number in the above instance.
-E bikes are not allowed for this event.
-Team Timing Chips are only to be swapped in Pit Area.
– Each category must have a minimum of three competitors in order to qualify for prizing or cash payouts.

Registration does not include lift ticket. Lift Ticket will be available for $25 for all racers at Packet Pickup.
