Do you like s’mores and are you interested in learning more about the night sky or just looking at the moon, stars, galaxies, and nebulae through a telescope? Join us near the Boat House at Monte Verde Lake on select weekend nights when the moon is dim and the heavens can shine. Amateur astronomer and astrophotographer Mike Hawkins will be on-site to operate the telescope, guide discussions, and answer questions. We’ll have fire pits set up and complimentary s’mores to enjoy!
Dress appropriately for the weather, as this event will be outdoors. Feel free to bring your chairs, blankets, and binoculars if you have them.
Please note: White-light flashlights and phone screens are all discouraged as they interfere with your and others’ vision adjustment and enjoyment of the night sky.
*While we will make every attempt to keep the scheduled date and times for stargazing, we want to ensure that the sky will be visible through our telescope. If we determine that cloud cover or weather may impact the event, we will post the event as “canceled” here and on social media.
