The Texas Shootout is the brainchild of Angel Fire Tennis Director Brett Hall. The tournament is unlike any tournament you have ever participated in before. It is a round robin team format with a team match consisting of three doubles teams. The team must win two out of three matches for a team victory. Each individual match is a giant 41 point tie-breaker and requires a scorekeeper. Tournament will include a dinner party and awards. Prizes for best Texas costume.
Entry fee is $65 per player and includes dinner, auction and award ceremony with special guest speaker, Frank Froehling, former world class player and leukemia survivor. Frank currently works as an account executive and project manager for Fast Dry Court Construction Company in Florida. He will share his experiences from the tour and his incredible survivor story.
The 2016 Texas Shootout raised an outstanding $12,000 in the fight against blood cancer. Our goal for 2017 is $15,000 and we hope that with your support, we can make that happen. The Texas Shootout Tennis Event will take place on July 22 and 23 at the Angel Fire Resort in the beautiful Sangre de Cristo Mountains in Northern New Mexico.

Who gets the money raised?
All dollars raised go to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
The need is critical: An estimated 1,012,533 Americans are living with, or are in remission from leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma and myelodysplastic syndromes. Approximately every four minutes, someone new is diagnosed with blood cancer. Every 10 minutes, someone dies. Leukemia causes more deaths than any other cancer among children under the age of 20. Lymphomas are the most common blood cancers and incidence increases with age. The survival rate for myeloma is only 41.1 percent. Incidence is nearly twice as high among African-Americans as for all other races.
I can’t play tennis at the event. But I would like to help in some way. What can I do?
You can donate money to the cause, volunteer your time at the event, or you can become a partner and donate a product or service to be raffled off as a door prize. To volunteer or to become a partner contact Brett Hall at bhall@outlook.com or call 503-930-7258.
All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. They’ll not only support LLS research but patient services, advocacy, public and professional education, and community services as well.
