With afternoon monsoons waning and hunting season well on the way, September is one of the finest months for golf at Angel Fire Resort. Tee times a plenty. A wealth of new golf carts to choose from. Not to mention having one of the top courses in New Mexico all to yourself. One could say September in Angel Fire is the perfect fall getaway.
The peak season has some and gone, and now the course belongs to the diehards. And with everything the Angel Fire Resort Country Club has planned for the remainder or the season, you’ll want to take advantage before the snowflakes fly.
Putt, Putt
A project to put in a new putting green—twice as big and twice as nice—is slated to start at the end of September. Dirt work and sodding the surface will be overseen by Landscaping Director Mike Pratz. The new putting green will re-open in May 2020, when the course opens for spring. The project is funded by dues from AAFPO.
Golf Fitness
Rejuvenate your swing, increase your flexibility and core strength with Golf Fitness class. Lead by instructor David, class is in session on Monday and Friday mornings at 7 am at the Country Club. Drop-in classes are $10, and are especially great for male golfers who are looking to stay challenged and in shape for the off-season.
Clinics and Teams
Although the Ladies Cocktail Clinic schedule for 2019 has ended, the 2020 schedule will be extended into fall. There are still three more sessions in the Ladies Intermediate Clinic Series. Taught by Angel Fire Resort’s finest golf professionals, the Ladies Intermediate Clinic is designed for women who already enjoy the sport and want to improve their game. Everything from putting, chipping and getting over the bunker is touched on during the clinic series. For information on how to register, call the Country Club staff at 575-377-4488.
