So you’re coming with your family or a group of friends to Angel Fire Resort, but you don’t ski or snowboard. Of course, you could book a lesson and learn to ski. But if that’s not your style, not to worry because there are many things to do in and near the resort during winter for those of us who don’t ski for whatever reason.
At the Resort
Even if you don’t ski, outdoor activities in the winter are exhilarating. Taking in the cold air in the mountain sunshine is invigorating. If you’re physically able, you don’t want to miss the rush. So take advantage of all the outdoor adventures below.
1. TUBING HILL
The Angel Fire Tubing Hill is a 2-lane gentle slope perfect for family fun and friendly rivalry on the mountain. Challenge your people to a race. Then spend an afternoon filled with laughter. Learn more here.
2. SNOWSHOEING
Explore the winter wonderland by going on a snowshoe adventure. Angel Fire Resort offers snowshoe rentals allowing you to trek through the beautiful snowy landscapes. Find out all the details here.
3. WINTER HIKING

4. INDOOR POOL & FITNESS CENTER
Our heated indoor pool and fitness center might be just the ticket to keep you warm but active in the winter. Hours and age restrictions apply, so please contact the Country Club at (575) 377-3055 for specific details.
5. SLEIGH RIDES WITH ROADRUNNER TOURS
Our friends at Roadrunner Tours offer horse-drawn sleigh rides along scenic mountain trails. Jingle all the way among Aspen and Ponderosa pine trees, with vistas of snowcapped Wheeler Peak and the quiet Village of Angel Fire along the foothills of the Carson National Forest.
Near the Resort
Angel Fire Resort is perfectly situated on the Enchanted Circle, a scenic drive that loops through the stunning landscapes of northern New Mexico. Even if you never got out of the car, the beauty of this drive would be well worth it. But why not stop and explore? This area, part of the Rio Grande del Norte National Monument, offers hiking trails with stunning views of the Rio Grande Gorge. It’s a great place for nature enthusiasts.
