It’s nearly July at Angel Fire Resort, which means 4th of July celebrations, mountain activities, lots of sunshine and fantastic events! While several areas in our state are closed (including our own Carson National Forest, more info: https://firerestrictions.us/nm/) for camping due to wildfire concerns, our campground and the Lodge at Angel Fire Resort are still open! CAMPGROUND:
The Resort campground, conveniently located just a short walk from the base of the mountain, offers port-a-potties and a washing station. While we aren’t allowing campfires this season, you’re welcome to bring your cooking stoves, pop up your tent and gather around our community fire pit.

FOURTH OF JULY EVENTS
10 AM Red River 4th of July Parade and Celebration
Location: Red River
The day begins at 10 am with the largest parade in northern New Mexico, followed by a full day of family-friendly activities all over town. After the parade, stroll down to Brandenburg Park where you can enjoy live music and good old-fashioned family fun, then head to the Red River Community House for its annual July 4th Egg Toss & Family Games.
11 AM – 4 PM Fireman’s BBQ
Location: 74 N. Tomboy/Eagle Nest
Get your fingers sticky and stomachs full at this BBQ eating event that helps support the Eagle Nest Fire Department.
2 – 3 PM Eagle Nest July 4th Parade
Location: Eagle Nest
Bring your friends and family for the second parade of the day. Then stick around Eagle Nest for some shopping or late lunch.
5:30 – 8:30 PM Community Appreciation and Public Safety Display
Location: Allen Fields/Angel Fire
Hang out with the Angel Fire Police and Fire Departments as they host a community appreciation and safety event. Kids will enjoy the new firetruck-shaped bounce house!
Dusk Fireworks Show over Eagle Nest Lake
Location: Eagle Nest
Please leave your fireworks home and join our experts as they give a full fireworks display just as the skies turn dark in the Enchanted Circle. Come a little early to enjoy our Festival in the Park.

Resort Activities
MONTE VERDE LAKE
Gather the family and get in touch with nature at Angel Fire Resort’s Monte Verde Lake for some fishing, standup paddleboarding or pedalboating on the water. Let the kids try out our Eurobungy & Climbing Wall. There are plenty of picnic tables & an easy walking path surrounding the entire lake that every age can enjoy.
DOWNHILL MOUNTAIN BIKING
While in Angel Fire, you can enjoy the largest Bike Park in the Rocky Mountains! If you have never ridden a Bike Park or are a beginner to downhill riding, this is the perfect time to take a lesson or a guided ride. Riders will be introduced to elements of bike control through body positioning, braking and cornering on a gentle slope under the guidance of an instructor.
GREENBELT TRAILS
The Moreno Valley awaits your adventurous spirit. Meet it on foot or on a bike to experience the great outdoors on terrain suited for all levels. The Greenbelt trail system in the Village of Angel Fire is a free-access system of trails that can be used for cross-country mountain biking, running or even hiking.
CHAIRLIFT RIDES
Take in the beautiful views as our chairlift rides take you to the summit of our mountain at 10,677 feet. Explore one of the hiking trails, play disc golf or pack a picnic lunch and enjoy the valley views. When you are ready to head back, you have the option of either hiking down or riding the chairlift back to the base area.
ZIPLINING
The Angel Fire Resort Zipline Adventure Tours are sure to get your adrenaline pumping and create family memories that will last a lifetime! Between ziplines, you’ll walk along a well-maintained path which allows you to fully enjoy the beauty of the Southern Rocky Mountains. Your kiddos do need to weigh at least 90 lbs. to enjoy the full Adventure Tour, but this summer we’re offering the Family Flyer – two shorter ziplines for those who weigh 50 lbs. or more!
