Adaptive Private Lesson Packages

Adaptive lessons are taught daily at 12 PM and 2 PM (two hours) by reservation only. During Peak Season, a 10 AM session is also available. Our mission is to help skiers with disabilities develop new skills and build self-confidence. We strive to create an atmosphere which produces positive physical, psychological and therapeutic results.

Lessons Include:

  • Private instruction
  • A lift ticket
  • Adaptive equipment and standard ski equipment rental

An additional adult lift ticket may be included to a responsible and capable coach who can learn to assist the participant.

We serve students with a variety of disabilities including:

  • Visual Impairment
  • Auditory Impairment
  • Amputees
  • Post-polio
  • Spina bifida
  • Birth defects
  • Paralysis/Paresis
  • Traumatic brain injuries
  • Cerebral palsy
  • Cognitive disability

The instructors are PSIA members and trained in adaptive ski techniques.

Reservation requests are accepted on a first-come first–serve basis. Only COMPLETE applications are accepted. Applications are approved after eligibility, payment and instructor availability have been confirmed.

Minimum 72-hour advance reservations are recommended; a minimum of 24 hours is required.

Restrictions

  • Students must be over the age of 5.
  • Students must be able to “hold head upright” through jerking motions.
  • Students must maintain breathing on their own.
  • Maximum weight restrictions:
    185 lbs. to participate in a “sit down” program.
    195 lbs. If totally independent when self loading device as a “sit down” participant.
    200 lbs. to participate as a “stand up” skier.
