Adaptive Private Lessons
Adaptive lessons are taught daily at 12 PM and 2 PM (two hours) by reservation only. During peak season, a 10 AM session is also available. Our mission is to help skiers with disabilities develop new skills and build self-confidence. We strive to create an atmosphere that produces positive physical, psychological, and therapeutic results.
All our adaptive instructors are PSIA members and trained in adaptive ski techniques.
Lessons Include:
- Private instruction
- A lift ticket
- Adaptive equipment and standard ski equipment rental*
*For sit-ski lessons only. Equipment is not included in the price of Stand-Up Adaptive lessons.
We serve students with a variety of disabilities including:
- Visual Impairment
- Auditory Impairment
- Amputees
- Post-polio
- Spina bifida
- Birth defects
- Paralysis/Paresis
- Traumatic brain injuries
- Cerebral palsy
- Cognitive disability
Restrictions
- Students must be over the age of 5.
- Students must be able to “hold head upright” through jerking motions.
- Students must maintain breathing on their own.
- Maximum weight restrictions:
185 lbs. to participate in a “sit down” program.
195 lbs. If totally independent when self-loading device as a “sit down” participant.
200 lbs. to participate as a “stand-up” skier.

We offer various adaptive options to meet our students’ needs here at Angel Fire Resort. Please take a moment to look over the following options and indicate your first preference on the application. Please note, we reserve the right to modify the lesson at the instructor’s discretion.

Reservations
Reservation requests are accepted on a first-come, first–serve basis. Only complete applications are accepted. Applications are approved after eligibility, payment, and instructor availability have been confirmed.
