This adaptive skiing technique utilizes traditional ski equipment with the addition of long-arm crutches containing a ski on the end. These additional supports allow students to help maintain their balance and control speed and direction when a disability exists that limits lower body movement. This option is popular for some amputees and those suffering from some weakness in the lower body, but still able to move around with crutches.
