Private Ski and Snowboard Lessons

Angel Fire Resort’s private ski and snowboard lessons are offered in 1, 2, and 3-hour blocks, personalized to meet your goals and learning pace. Go one-on-one or bring a small group of up to four people with similar age, ability, and pace.

Group private lessons are not recommended for children under 10 when skiing with adults.

Lesson Overview

One-Hour Private Lessons

A one-hour private is ideal for:

Returning skiers and riders who need a quick refresher
Very young children (ages 3–5) who learn best in short, focused sessions

Not recommended for first-time skiers or snowboarders.

Deluxe first-timer programs and full-day children’s packages are better for building confidence and comfort on the mountain.

Two- and Three-Hour Lessons

Longer sessions provide time to build skills, explore more terrain, and refine technique with consistent coaching. Perfect for advancing intermediate and family groups.

Children’s Lessons

For most children, especially those under 10, the Children’s Ski & Snowboard Center group lessons offers the best value. This full-day program includes indoor and outdoor instruction, lunch, rentals, and lift tickets.

3–4 person private lessons are available; however, we don’t recommend this format for groups of first-time or beginner children, since learning at this level requires focused, individual attention.

Group or Multi-Person Private Lessons

Private groups work best when all participants share a similar ability level and pace.

We cannot book mixed groups of first-time children and adults or groups of dependent children who are not skiing independently.

Independent skiing/riding means:

Skiers can glide, stop, and turn independently on easy green terrain
Riders can fall-leaf heelside and begin turning toeside
Participants can safely ride a chairlift and understand the skier’s safety code

Important Reminders

Lift tickets and rentals are not included in private lessons.
Please arrive at the meeting area 15 minutes before your lesson start with lift ticket and gear ready.
Allow at least one hour for rental fitting; for morning lessons, pick up rentals at 8:00 AM or the afternoon before.
Birth certificates are required for children 12 years old and younger on their first lesson. Email birth certificate to dob@angelfireresort.com.
