2017 Fire 5 Downhill Race Series
Angel Fire Bike Park’s Fire 5 is the premier downhill race series in the Rocky Mountains. A series of five unique downhill races held at Angel Fire Bike Park throughout the bike season. Amateurs and pros alike are invited to join us for one or all five races. Cash and prizes awarded for each race and overall series winners. Competitors 21 and over will receive two beer tickets per race.
Awards will be given for 1st, 2nd & 3rd places in all categories. Series Champion will be determined by most points earned in 3 out of 5 races in the series. Rider must be present to be eligible for awards. No awards will be mailed.

Note: Online registration will close 2 days before each race. Same-day registration & packet pickup will be held in the Bike Shop & will close at 1 p.m. Bike Park Lift Ticket is not included in cost of registration.

You asked for it and Angel Fire Bike Park is going to deliver! We had a number of inquiries for an additional category, Juniors (12 & Under). For the series finale of the Fire 5, we will be adding a separate Juniors’ race to be held Sunday morning at 10 a.m. The cost… FREE!!! The track, everyones favorite, LOWER BOOGIE! Let’s get the kids stoked and bring everyone in to the racing fun!! Onsite Registration only.

*The course will be announced 1 weekend prior to each race and open to Bike Park riders to practice before Race Day.
If inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances arise, the contingency plan will be to move the race to the following day at 10:30 a.m.

None required. Registration takes care of everything. All racers must sign a race waiver.
Upgrades or Downgrades
If racer upgrades or downgrades classes he/she will lose ALL points.
Racer must have race plate on at all times to be on the course. Race plate must not be cut at any area around the sponsor or race number, and must be placed on front of handlebars.
Online registration will close 2 days before the race. Same-day registration will close at 1 p.m and costs $5 more than online registration. Lift tickets are not included in the cost of registration.
Start list will be posted at the Ticket Office, Bike Shop and at the base of the chairlift by 2:00 p.m. If a racer misses their start time, they will have to wait until the end to cycle through.
Venue has the right to change the cash payout or combine classes if there are not 5 in a category. You must race at the series Championships and be at the awards ceremony to be eligible for the cash payout. The top 5 in every category class will make the podium.
Individual Race Awards
Awards will be given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in all categories and 4th and 5th will be recognized on the podium.
Male Pro | $400, $200, $100
Female Pro | $400, $200, $100
Amateur Prizes awards to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for Junior categories & 1st-5th place for the Open categories averaging $1,500 in retail prizes per race.
Awards will be held at 5 p.m. on the base area deck behind The Lodge.
Overall Series Awards
Awards & medals will be given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in all categories and 4th and 5th will be recognized on the podium. Rider must be present to be eligible for awards. No awards will be mailed. Champion will be determined by most points earned in 3 out of 5 races in the series.

We follow USA Cycling rules to define ages. A rider’s racing age is defined as his age on December 31st of the year that the race season ends. So, for the 2017 Fire 5 please select your category based on your age as of December 31, 2017.
Racers will earn points for each race to count towards overall championships. Racer must race 3 out of 5 races to be included in the overall championship. Racers top 3 races in the series will count towards championships. In the event of a tie, overall times at the final race will determine the winner. Points will be updated on the website after each race.
