Welcome to Angel Fire Resort!

Winter Activities | December 12, 2025- March 22, 2026

New to skiing or snowboarding? First time in Angel Fire or at Angel Fire Resort? Looking to make family memories to last a lifetime? You’re in the right place! Our First Time Visitors Guide to Angel Fire Resort has all you need to know for your family’s trip to Angel Fire, New Mexico.

Once you have chosen your vacation dates and know how you’re getting here, follow these steps to plan and book your trip with confidence.

Book Your Lodging

The Lodge at Angel Fire Resort is the only hotel located directly next to the ski lifts, offering more than 100 rooms, the area’s only indoor pool and hot tub, plus convenient onsite restaurants and shopping. Visitors can also choose from a wide range of vacation rentals, from ski lift–adjacent condos to custom ski-in/ski-out homes. For a unique stay, the Angel Fire RV Resort offers a luxury RV experience with an outdoor hot tub and clubhouse, as well as cozy cabins featuring a queen bedroom, bunk loft, futon sofa, and kitchenette.

Helpful tip: Set aside one uninterrupted afternoon or evening to book everything at once. Ski trips involve details, and focusing on them together makes the process smoother.

Choose and Book Your Winter Activities

Next, decide which winter activities you want to experience and reserve your tickets early. Angel Fire Resort offers more than skiing and snowboarding. Guests can enjoy the state’s only night skiing, plus tubing, sledding, and miles of scenic Nordic skiing and snowshoeing trails. Take time to explore available mountain activities and book your lift tickets and sessions in advance to help guarantee availability and make your trip planning smooth and stress free.

Helpful tip: Plan ahead and save by purchasing skiing and tubing tickets online at least 72 hours before your visit. If your trip comes together last minute, an EZ Ticket helps you skip the ticket line and spend more time enjoying the mountain. Booking online is always the simplest way to go.

Rent Your Gear

If you need to rent ski or snowboard equipment, Angel Fire Resort makes the process simple and convenient. Slopeside Rental Shop is located in the Base Area next to Village Haus and offers rentals, repairs, accessories, logo apparel, and souvenirs just steps from the lifts. Winter Sports, the resort’s flagship ski shop on Aspen Street, provides rentals for all ability levels, expert boot fitting, and demo skis from top brands. Guests can take advantage of free parking and shuttle service for easy access to the slopes. It's a good idea to extend your rentals for the length of your stay.

Helpful tip: Be prepared to provide the name, date of birth, height, weight, shoe size, and preferred equipment type for each person who needs rental equipment.

Schedule Ski or Snowboard Lessons

Learning with a lesson is the best way to enjoy skiing or snowboarding at Angel Fire Resort. Review the ski school programs for the whole family and confirm your ability level before you reserve. Group lessons include rentals and a lift ticket during the lesson, while private lessons do not include tickets or rentals and must be scheduled by phone. Make sure to confirm that all dates align with your lodging and rentals.

Helpful tip: You will need a child’s birth certificate for kids’ lessons.

What's Next?

After booking, you may receive several confirmation emails, including separate messages for lodging and mountain activities. You will also receive pre-arrival emails with important check-in instructions and helpful reminders for lessons and rentals. We strongly recommend reviewing these emails, as they contain valuable details that will help make your arrival and check-in process smooth and stress free.

Helpful tip: If this is your first time skiing or snowboarding, be sure to check out our beginner guide. It offers simple but helpful tips to help you feel prepared and confident before you hit the slopes.
